Latin American Studies

The Latin American Studies minor has special characteristics of that will make you a valuable addition to prospective employers:

  • Broad knowledge of the history and cultural heritage of Latin Americans, providing capacity to become a social activist and agent of societal change.
  • Ability to advise and create informed public policy by drawing on knowledge of Latin American history and culture.
  • Strong communication and research skills.
  • Broad liberal arts education background.
  • Advanced ability to communicate orally and through the written word.
  • Major that will be particularly useful for anyone who expects to be working with people of Latin American descent.
