Sport Management

The sport management major has special characteristics that will make you a valuable addition to prospective employers:

  • Knowledge of athletes, sports officials, game rules, facility operations, and legal considerations.
  • Advanced leadership, organizing, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong decision making, motivation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Talent in public speaking.
  • Understanding of management theory, public relations, marketing, and sports leadership.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Capability of planning and coordinating special events.
