Gender Studies

The gender studies program has special characteristics that will make you a valuable addition to prospective employers:

  • Excellent communication, writing, research and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced insight into group dynamics and behavior.
  • Capability to employ interviewing and observational skills in counseling, research, education and social service.
  • Knowledge of human relationships to social services.
  • Ability to counsel individuals on how to get along in groups.
  • Background to design, conduct and analyze surveys to study social phenomena and attitudes.
  • Training to study patterns of group behavior.
  • Expertise needed to solve group conflicts such as labor and race relations.
  • Potential to predict how groups will react to new situations.
