This program partners Adelphi students interested in gaining valuable insight and experience with nonprofits across Long Island and New York City.

Panthers with a Purpose is the sister program of the Jaggar Community Fellows Program, the University’s flagship premier summertime experiential learning, donor-supported program.

The Panthers with a Purpose program attracts students from various disciplines. The semester-long interns are paid $13 an hour and work 10-15 hours a week to complete projects that aid in the sustainability of the nonprofits in the advocacy, communications, education and enrichment, and environmental sectors. The program has been fortunate to partner with many leading nonprofits across Long Island and the New York metro area.

In order to participate in Panthers with a Purpose, you need to qualify for Federal Work Study. If you have not yet applied for Financial Aid, you can fill out a FAFSA form online.

I received much help with creating, editing and constantly updating my résumé with people like Ms. Bernadine Waller. I also was given advice on the right Work-Study job on campus and summer internships and research. Overall, they helped and assisted in any way possible when it came to furthering my career, both short term and long term.
